TJ Rosene of Emmanuel College
"I loved the flexibility and durability it brought to our individual and guard/post breakdown work. It gave our guys a tangible way to see and feel that they were properly executing the fundamentals we were teaching. The Sweep Stick also allowed us to change drills and emphasis with one quick and seamless adjustment. Sweep Stick for sure made our workouts more efficient and effective." |

"Since 2001, I’ve been making instructional videos, developing players, instructing coaches, and generally trying to improve the game. Recently I’ve been carrying several Sweep Sticks with me wherever I go. I’m just telling you this: When I put these on the floor, players want to use them. They want to hear the sound. And I like watching the change in their stance, and even their attitude, when they rip the ball through the Sweep Stick. It’s one of those training aids that just works."

NBA Legend Keith Van Horn Sees Value in the
Sweep Stick for All Ages & Levels
"I use the Sweep Stick in nearly all of my youth practices and training sessions. It forces our players at Colorado Premier Basketball Club to consistently play low, which is much more difficult without the Sweep Stick. It is not only beneficial for youth players, but even experienced players at the collegiate and professional level would benefit from using it. I know my college coach at the University of Utah, Rick Majerus, would have loved it!"

Rob Bosshart--WBCA Hall of Fame
"The Sweep Stick is an invaluable training tool that has helped us teach the importance of playing low. We use the Sweep Stick in many of our individual drills and have gotten immediate results in players' ability to penetrate off the dribble. The Sweep Stick is a vital piece in our player development."

Mike Lee of Thrive3 Basketball
"We absolutely love using the Sweep Stick in our workouts. It's versatile enough to use in dribble attack drills, as well as, playing out of triple threat. One of our points of emphasis is getting our offensive players to play lower than their defender and the Sweep Stick does exactly that. I highly recommend it!"

Mychal Martinez--Founder of Reel Prospects, Coach, & Player

"I've been around basketball pretty much my whole life. I started playing in the 4th grade. I was one of those kids who loved to find new ways of training to help me become more comfortable in game like situations. Now that I am a coach, I attempt to apply that same creativity and passion in my training sessions with players and am always on the look out for game-like, innovative ways to train. After using the Sweep Stick for almost 4 years now in my training with Colorado Premier Basketball Club players, I now consider the Sweep Stick an essential part of my coaching gym bag. There are a lot of gimmicks out there these days and countless training equipment, but this is NOT one of them. Getting players to play low to the ground is probably one of the most difficult tasks as a skills coach, and with Duane's innovation of the Sweep Stick, it makes this job much easier. It doesn't get in the way of drills, is sturdy, and can take a beating from the countless repetitions that it will go through. The Sweep Stick provides immediate feedback as to whether the player was low enough on their live ball rip by hearing the "brush" of the ball over the bristles upon a rip through - which to me is much better than a coach yelling "get lower" over and over and no means of measurable feedback. I've used this not only for live ball rip combos, but for off the dribble moves as well to ensure our players are staying low to the ground after their initial move and taking proper angels to the rim to beat their defender quicker and more efficiently. I highly recommend the Sweep Stick to any organization from the youth levels all the way up to the professional level."
Mike Jones, DeMatha HS Head Boys Basketball Coach; USA Basketball
"At DeMatha, we really preach and teach for our players to play LOW. The Sweep Stick really has been effective in reinforcing this. From our perimeter players to our Posts, the Sweep Stick has become a core part of every workout. It has made it so much easier for our guys to improve their balance, first step and explosion. I highly recommend the Sweep Stick to coaches at all levels."

"Getting young players to Triple Threat/Rip the ball or now as we shout "Sweep It" has been one of the most difficult skills to teach in my 45 years of coaching HS student/athletes. We are in our 2nd year now here in the girls program at Mayo HS in Rochester, MN, using this excellent, simple tool. I have found nothing that has helped us more than these 'sweep sticks' in forcing players to get low, rip hard and at the same time be thinking of their 3 options in a triple threat sequence. This has to be one of the finest training aids we have seen in the last few years. I highly recommend you trying it. It will make a difference."

"The Sweep Stick has become a staple in my training sessions. From a professional player to a foundational player, the Sweep Stick reinforces the importance of playing low and on balance. You combine this with efficient footwork and teaching on the path of the ball, and you are on the right track to being a highly effective player. Basketball training isn't about repetitions, but perfect repetitions that translate into game situations. The Sweep Stick is an essential tool for any coach or trainer teaching the fundamentals of this great game!"

"I use them (Sweep Sticks) every session. The Sweep Stick has been going over great with the kids we have trained - they are getting lower and covering more ground while protecting the ball -- I highly recommend!"Steve Brown

Lauren Johnson, Ripon College
"Females have to be consistently coached to play the game lower and more athletic. From balance, to explosiveness, to execution of angles, the Sweep Stick helps train these characteristics on the catch. We use the sweep sticks several times a week in our guard-post breakdown drills. It's easy to manipulate and is a tool we depend on to help make our players harder to guard. The Sweep Stick is like a cone, blocking pad, heavy ball, or a whistle--it's become THAT tool that you need to have at practice, otherwise, can you really call yourself a coach?!"

Tommy Hulihan, Tommy Hulihan Basketball
"One of the things we stress is playing low. Playing low allows the player to be on balance, have more power and cover more ground! Teaching players to play and attack out of a low position can sometimes be a difficult task. How low players think they get and how low they actually get are sometimes different.
"With the Sweep Stick the players will know every time whether they were low enough or not. "The Sweep Stick is a great tool for coaches, trainers and especially players. Incorporating the sweep stick into your practices will greatly improve your team’s ability to play low! Players looking to get better on their own would benefit immensely from using the Sweep Sticks in their workouts. So Simple -- So Effective! I highly recommend the Sweep Stick!" |
Billy Kegler--Head Coach, Madison College
“I have seen an instant improvement in our players aggressively sweeping the ball through the Sweep Stick and their first step attack. The Sweep Stick is a tool we will continually use for our beginning players and those that possess advanced skill sets.”

Luke Meier, Real Work Basketball
“Getting players to play lower is a constant point of emphasis for us. The Sweep Stick eliminates constant correction by giving the players a physical, visual, and auditory tool to make sure they are low enough. It’s a one-time correction and automatically corrects player error. It has become a staple in almost all our workouts. I highly recommend it to players and coaches at all levels.”

Ryan Brown, Medford HS Head Boys Basketball Coach
"As a program, Medford High School will be using Sweep Sticks daily for skill development this upcoming season. We implemented the Sweep Stick into our workouts and camps this summer and saw immediate results for all age levels. The Sweep Stick has been a great tool for teaching footwork, quick changes of direction off the dribble, getting to the rim, and driving and kicking to teammates. Our athletes seem to enjoy hitting and hearing the Sweep Stick to know that they are playing and staying low. Without us (coaches) telling them, players almost immediately notice that they are quicker and harder to guard when forced to stay low using the Sweep Stick."Ryan Brown
